Water Quality Systems Building
For more than a century, South Fork Water has provided high-quality drinking water from the Clackamas River to homes and businesses in Oregon City and West Linn. Now, South Fork Water is preparing for the next 100 years of reliable service. Aging water treatment infrastructure at the South Fork Water treatment plant, located in Oregon City's Park Place Neighborhood, is being replaced with a modern building and equipment to improve operations, safety and reliability, including during emergencies. Construction is anticipated to take about two years, starting in December 2026.
The current water treatment plant is old, dating to 1957. The building was not built to today's standards, and some equipment is near the end of its useful life. The Water Quality Systems Building project provides multiple benefits:
- Modern, seismically resilient facility
- Safer, more efficient water treatment operations
- Dedicated Emergency Operations Center
- Improved site access for deliveries
- ADA-accessible meeting space
Neighbors may notice construction equipment, vehicle activity, and temporary noise or dust. During roadway improvements (expected in 2027), flaggers will keep traffic moving.
Maintaining access for residents, emergency responders, school buses, deliveries, and waste collection is a top priority. South Fork Water will work with the contractor to provide advance notice of construction activities and maintain access to homes.
This project will not impact drinking water service to your home or business.
The project is funded through capital reserve savings and water rates.
